Brycen C. Ronk, a beloved 21-year-old from Fort Riley, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 70. Born on December 3, 2002, in Junction City, Kansas, Brycen grew up in Fort Riley and graduated from Junction City High School in 2021. He was known for his vibrant personality, love for adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community.
Brycen’s passion for motorcycles began at a young age, influenced by his father, who shared the same enthusiasm. He spent countless hours riding and maintaining his bike, which became a significant part of his identity. His love for speed and freedom on the open road was well-known among those who loved him.
Tragically, on July 30, 2024, Brycen was involved in a fatal collision on I-70 while riding his motorcycle. The accident occurred near mile marker 325, when a vehicle unexpectedly swerved into his lane.
Despite the efforts of first responders, Brycen succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of many who cherished him.
Brycen is survived by his parents, Michael and Susan Ronk, and his younger sister, Emma Ronk, all of Fort Riley. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Robert and Linda Ronk of Topeka, and his girlfriend, Sarah Mitchell.
His close friends and extended family remember him as a compassionate, adventurous, and fun-loving individual who always had a smile on his face.
A memorial service will be held on August 5, 2024, at the Fort Riley Community Center, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Brycen’s life and share their fondest memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a motorcycle safety awareness fund in Brycen’s honor, to promote safe riding practices and prevent future tragedies.
