Cameron Yones Obituary, Death: Tragic Car Accident on U.S. 70 in Johnston County Claims Lives of Goldsboro Resident Cameron Yones, Princeton Residents William Levi McClung and Mark Ashley Braswell; Community Mourns Beloved Bartender and Friends

The Goldsboro community is reeling from the tragic deaths of Cameron Yones, William Levi McClung, and Mark Ashley Braswell, who lost their lives in a devastating car accident on U.S. 70 in Johnston County on July 21, 2024. The accident, which occurred late at night, has left family, friends, and the local community heartbroken and mourning the loss of these beloved individuals.

Cameron Yones, 29, was a cherished resident of Goldsboro, known for his warm personality and dedication as a bartender at a popular local establishment. Born on May 10, 1995, Cameron grew up in Goldsboro and was a graduate of Goldsboro High School.

His outgoing nature and genuine care for others made him a favorite among patrons and colleagues alike. Cameron was passionate about his work, always going the extra mile to ensure everyone felt welcome and valued. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, often hosting gatherings that brought people together in laughter and camaraderie.

William Levi McClung, 28, and Mark Ashley Braswell, 30, both residents of Princeton, were close friends of Cameron. William, born on April 7, 1996, was known for his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.

He worked as a landscaper and was highly regarded for his craftsmanship and creativity. Mark, born on December 12, 1993, was a dedicated mechanic with a talent for fixing anything with an engine. His friends admired his problem-solving skills and willingness to help others with their automotive needs.

The three friends were traveling together on U.S. 70 when their vehicle was involved in a collision, resulting in their untimely deaths. The sudden and tragic loss of these vibrant young men has left a profound void in their communities.

A joint memorial service will be held on July 27, 2024, at the Goldsboro Community Center. The service will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together to honor the lives of Cameron, William, and Mark, sharing memories and offering support to one another during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the families have requested that donations be made to local charities that were meaningful to the three men: a scholarship fund for aspiring bartenders in Cameron's name, a conservation organization in memory of William, and a vocational training program for mechanics in honor of Mark. These contributions will help preserve the legacies of these remarkable individuals and support causes that were close to their hearts.

The passing of Cameron Yones, William Levi McClung, and Mark Ashley Braswell is a heartbreaking reminder of life's fragility. Their memories will be cherished, and their impact on the lives they touched will never be forgotten. As the community mourns, they also celebrate the joy, friendship, and love these three men brought into the world.
