Hunter William McDonald, affectionately known as "Bob Ross," graced this world with his presence on January 23, 2009, and departed from our midst suddenly on April 4, 2024.
A Passionate Pursuer of Knowledge
Hunter was a beacon of brilliance at Minooka Community High School, where he embraced a multitude of academic challenges with gusto. Enrolled in honors and AP classes, he reveled in the pursuit of intellectual excellence. Beyond the classroom, Hunter found fulfillment in engaging extracurricular activities, notably the Chess Club, which held a special place in his heart, and the Underwater Robotics Club.
A Multifaceted Athlete and Outdoor Enthusiast
A dedicated athlete, Hunter immersed himself in the realms of wrestling, lacrosse, and hockey, where he flourished as a member of the Jaguar Hockey Club, a team he considered family since infancy.
Outside the confines of organized sports, Hunter sought solace in nature, relishing tarpon fishing and hunting escapades with his beloved father. His cherished dogs, Bauer and Deke, were constant companions, recipients of his boundless affection and care.
A Blossoming Work Ethic and Love for Nature
Hunter's industrious spirit shone brightly during his tenure at Heaps Giant Pumpkin Farm, a job he adored since the age of 14. Through his labor on the farm, he cultivated a strong work ethic and developed a profound appreciation for the splendor of sunflowers.
An Abundance of Love and Support
Throughout his journey, Hunter was enveloped in love and support from a devoted circle of family and friends. He leaves behind his grieving parents, Matt and Kristy McDonald, along with his cherished brothers, Matty and Cam McDonald, who hold dear the memories they shared.
Remembering a Cherished Legacy
Hunter's legacy lives on through his loving grandparents, Barb and Bill McDonald, Dave Reiter, Dee and Annette Driscoll, and great-grandmother Connie A'Hearn. His aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of extended family members and friends mourn his passing deeply.
A Time to Reflect and Remember
Hunter is preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Don and Jean Fishburn, and maternal great-grandparents, Fred, Joanne, and Ruth Reiter.
Embracing Hunter's Memory
During his time on earth, Hunter left an indelible mark on the lives of many with his vibrant spirit and genuine kindness. Though he may be physically absent, the warmth of his heart and the joy of his presence will forever endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Honoring Hunter's Life
A celebration of Hunter's life will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, with visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, located at 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Following the visitation, cremation rites will be accorded.
