Benjamin Mayers Brown, a devoted family man, esteemed businessman, and cherished member of the community, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2024, at the age of 41, due to a heart condition. Renowned for his vibrant personality and compassionate nature, Ben's untimely departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ben graduated from East High School in 2000 and pursued his passion for Middle Eastern Studies at The University of Utah, where he joined the Beta Theta Phi Fraternity. Throughout his academic journey, Ben's unwavering commitment to learning and his drive for success were evident to everyone he encountered.
Following his university years, Ben embarked on a flourishing career, co-founding Mountain West Commercial Real Estate alongside his lifelong friend and business partner, Chad Moore. Within the company, Ben found not only professional fulfillment but also a second family. His dedication, sincerity, and genuine concern for both clients and colleagues garnered him widespread admiration and respect within the industry.
In 2008, Ben married his beloved wife, Taylor Nicolaides Brown, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they were blessed with four adored children: Lila Elise (11), Eloise Grace (11), Leo Benjamin (7), and Etta Elizabeth (5). Ben cherished his role as a father, delighting in every moment spent nurturing and supporting his growing family. His passion for collecting coins and Pokemon cards with his children created enduring bonds and cherished memories.
Throughout his life, Ben was characterized by his generosity, empathy, and ability to forge meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. His creative spirit, coupled with a quick wit and infectious laughter, had the remarkable ability to brighten any room.
Ben is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Steven Evans, and is survived by his loving wife, Taylor Nicolaides Brown; cherished children, Lila, Eloise, Leo, and Etta; devoted parents, Robert and Lilian Brown; caring sister, Emily Brown; supportive parents-in-law, Tommy and Vicky Nicolaides; siblings-in-law, TJ Nicolaides (Melissa), Travis Nicolaides (Carrie), Tory Reeder (Maurice), Taryn Evans (Scott), Tessa Nicolaides; and twelve beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Bonneville Ward, Salt Lake City, with visitations on April 11th and April 12th. Interment will take place at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery. For those unable to attend, services will be streamed via Zoom.
