Microsoft Strikes Deal with Toys for Bob, Former Crash Bandicoot Developer, for Upcoming Game

Reportedly, Microsoft has finalized an agreement with former Crash Bandicoot developer Toys for Bob for the studio's upcoming game. In February, Toys for Bob disclosed its intention to transition from being a part of Microsoft-owned Activision to operating as an independent developer.

While renowned for creating titles like Skylanders, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Crash Bandicoot games, Toys for Bob had recently served as a support studio for Call of Duty.

During its announcement of independence, Toys for Bob hinted at exploring potential partnerships with Microsoft, indicating support from both Microsoft and Activision for its new direction. Although the studio's debut project as an indie entity is said to be in its early stages, fans speculated about the revival of beloved IPs such as Crash or Spyro.

According to reports from Windows Central, the partnership between Microsoft and Toys for Bob has been confirmed, with Microsoft taking on the funding for the development of the undisclosed game. Described as being "similar" to previous titles developed by Toys for Bob, this new project awaits official comment from both Microsoft and Toys for Bob.

In their announcement of independence, Toys for Bob urged fans to stay tuned for further updates, prompting speculation among some fans about a possible revival of Spyro the Dragon.

With Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it now possesses all associated intellectual properties, including Crash and Spyro.
