Chris Olson, a cherished son and brother, tragically passed away on July 12, 2024, in Medina, Ohio. His unexpected death has left his family, friends, and community in profound grief. Born on February 2, 1990, in Medina, Chris was the beloved son of Michael and Karen Olson and the older brother to his sister, Emily. From a young age, Chris exhibited a strong sense of responsibility and compassion, qualities that endeared him to everyone he met. He attended Medina High School, where he excelled academically and was an active member of the school's basketball team. His leadership on and off the court was admired by his peers and coaches alike. After graduating in 2008, Chris pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio State University. His academic journey was marked by hard work and perseverance, culminating in his graduation with honors. Chris’s passion for engineering led him to a fulfilling career at a local engineering firm, where he was respected for his expertise and commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional life, Chris was deeply involved in his community. He volunteered at local shelters and participated in various charity events, always striving to make a positive impact. His generous spirit and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character. Chris's family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses and support causes that were important to him. The outpouring of donations and heartfelt messages on the campaign page is a testament to the lives he touched and the love he inspired. Friends and family remember Chris as a person who brought light into every room he entered, someone whose presence was a source of comfort and joy. In addition to his parents and sister, Chris is survived by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins, all of whom cherished his warm personality and sense of humor. A memorial service will be held on July 20, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Medina.
