Chloe Zernicke Bonduel WI Death, 13-year-old Girl Died In Shawano All-terrain Vehicle (ATV) Accident

At approximately 8:30 PM on May 15, 2024, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an ATV crash near Landstad Rd and Two Creek Rd. The caller reported that a 13-year-old female was unconscious and not breathing following the crash. Multiple law enforcement officers and emergency medical service personnel responded to the scene, which was on private property.

Upon arrival, responders found CPR being performed on the juvenile. Navarino-Lessor EMS and NEW Ambulance were on scene and requested ThedaStar Helicopter. Despite extensive life-saving efforts by multiple crews, the juvenile succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was called in to assist due to the nature of the crash. The initial investigation revealed that the juvenile was the sole occupant and driver of the ATV. A witness on scene provided critical information to law enforcement regarding the accident. The juvenile’s parents and all parties involved were cooperative with the investigation.

The Wisconsin DNR is the primary agency handling the investigation, and no further information will be released at this time. To respect the privacy of the juvenile’s family, no names will be disclosed.

The juvenile attended school in the Village of Bonduel. The School Resource Officer was notified and arranged for additional support and services for students and staff in Bonduel schools the following morning.

They urge everyone to prioritize ATV and UTV safety as the weather warms up. Please wear helmets, use seat belts, complete safety courses, and drive cautiously.

Assisting agencies in this matter include Navarino-Lessor EMS, NEW Ambulance, Navarino-Lessor Fire Department, ThedaStar, and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office.
