On Saturday, April 27th, 2024, Ben Godfrey, a cherished son and pastor, peacefully passed away. Ben was a dedicated individual who touched the lives of many through his unwavering faith and commitment to serving others.
Ben's journey began at Goshen College, where he studied Communication, before pursuing his Master's in Pastoral Studies at Lancaster Bible College. Alongside his studies, Ben worked as a retail clerk at Godfrey Bros. Meats, where he brought his contagious positivity to his workplace every day.
Outside of work and study, Ben found joy in various outdoor activities, from mountain biking and skiing to hiking and playing sports. He cherished spending time in nature, especially around campfires, where he could connect with friends and family.
Ben's passion for life extended to his spiritual journey. Raised in a church environment, he dedicated his life to Jesus in fourth grade and was baptized in his home church. However, it wasn't until college that Ben truly grasped the depth of living as a Christ follower. Through the friendships he formed, Ben discovered the true essence of faith and dedicated himself to spreading the message of Jesus.
As a licensed minister, Ben frequently preached at his home church, Codorus, and was an active member of the praise team and youth group advisor. He saw working with youth as a calling to be a positive influence in a world filled with challenges and uncertainties.
Ben's legacy is one of love, faith, and service. He touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving behind memories of his infectious laughter, genuine care, and unwavering faith in Jesus. While his physical presence may be gone, his impact will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
