Throughout his remarkable career, Gorsuch made significant contributions to the realms of tennis and golf operations, playing a pivotal role in their evolution from standard definition to high definition broadcasting. Patty Power, EVP of operations and engineering at CBS Sports, fondly remembers Gorsuch's invaluable contributions, stating, "Steve was instrumental to our success across a variety of sports and was the cornerstone to our golf operations on CBS Sports. His contributions are immeasurable, and his impact will live on for years to come."

Gorsuch's expertise extended beyond technical operations; he possessed a unique ability to foster strong relationships and bring out the best in those around him. His leadership and mentorship left an enduring impression on colleagues and industry peers alike.

Ken Aagaard, former chairman of SVG and chairman of the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame, reflects on Gorsuch's unparalleled influence, stating, "No one has affected technical operations and engineering for the two sports of golf and tennis like Steve Gorsuch. His legacy within how these sports are covered is everlasting."


Gorsuch's journey in the world of sports broadcasting began humbly, starting with camerawork at local racetracks before joining CBS Sports in 1975. Over the years, he ascended through the ranks, demonstrating his versatility and expertise in various roles, from camera operator to technical director.

Lew Sherr, CEO of the USTA, emphasizes Gorsuch's indispensable role in shaping the US Open's broadcast coverage, noting, "Steve oversaw many of the innovations of the US Open coverage as the event grew beyond all expectations to include new stadiums and a roof over Arthur Ashe Stadium."

Gorsuch's impact extended far beyond his professional accomplishments; he was beloved by friends and family alike. Jamie Reynolds, ESPN VP of Production, fondly remembers Gorsuch's infectious smile and his ability to seamlessly navigate any challenge.
