Danny Salcido’s passing has left a deep sense of sorrow throughout the Chula Vista community and among all who knew and loved him. On Thanksgiving morning, while preparing for what he expected to be a simple bike ride, 

Danny suffered a sudden cardiac arrest that would forever change the lives of those closest to him. He was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit, where medical teams worked tirelessly to give him every possible chance. Despite their dedicated efforts, his condition remained critical, and his family faced the unimaginable reality of a difficult prognosis.

In the days that followed, Danny’s loved ones were forced to make heart-wrenching decisions guided by compassion, courage, and love. On December 7, they honored him through a compassionate extubation, choosing to surround him with peace, dignity, and the presence of those who mattered most. 

It was a moment marked by both unbearable grief and profound love, as family and friends gathered in spirit and in prayer to be with him.Danny was known for his vibrant personality, kind heart, and active spirit. He found joy in simple moments, especially in being outdoors, connecting with others, and embracing life with enthusiasm. 

He was a loyal friend, a beloved family member, and a person whose smile and laughter could light up any room. Those who knew him speak of his generosity, humility, and the way he made people feel valued and understood.During this incredibly difficult time, Danny’s family has been deeply moved by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community.
