A woman stood in a residential street in south Fargo when bullets tore through her body—not once, but multiple times—and by the time help arrived Monday night, Nadine Khoury was beyond saving. Police say what started as some kind of confrontation in the 2700 block of 41st Street South turned deadly fast, and when officers got there after hearing about gunfire, they found Khoury on the ground with gunshot wounds that would kill her right there at the scene. The man accused of pulling the trigger, 26-year-old Levi Larteh, didn't stick around—he was picked up the next morning at a gas station in Barnesville, about 30 miles away, and booked into Clay County Jail on a murder charge.

Investigators quickly began canvassing the area, collecting shell casings and speaking to witnesses who described a chaotic few moments before the shots rang out.By early Tuesday morning, authorities had identified the suspected shooter as 26-year-old Levi Larteh. According to police, Larteh fled Fargo immediately after the shooting and was located several hours later at 

a gas station in Barnesville, Minnesota, roughly 30 miles away. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Clay County Jail, where he now faces a charge of murder.Investigators have not released details on what led to the confrontation or the nature of the relationship between Khoury and Larteh, though they confirmed the two were acquainted.
