ADAMS COUNTY, Idaho — A tragic accident claimed the life of **a local man identified as Stein** after a two-vehicle crash on a stretch of roadway where **low visibility created dangerous conditions**, authorities reported.Investigators with the **Idaho State Police** said the roadway itself was dry, but 

drivers faced dense, shifting fog that made it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. Despite the conditions, Stein was speeding and did not adjust his driving to account for the reduced visibility. His vehicle collided with a **Subaru driven by Scott Johnson, 63, of New Meadows**, with devastating results.

Stein, who was **not wearing a seatbelt**, suffered fatal injuries. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after their arrival. Officials stressed again the importance of seatbelt use, noting that it remains one of the most critical factors in surviving serious crashes.Johnson was critically injured and immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
