Galleon House Hotel Fatal Shooting; Undisclosed Woman Fatally Shot at Galleon House Hotel - Homicide Investigation Underway

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — Authorities are investigating a **fatal shooting** that occurred late Thursday night at the **Galleon House Hotel**, leaving a woman dead and prompting a homicide investigation.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD)**, officers responded to emergency calls shortly after midnight reporting gunfire at the hotel, located in the heart of downtown Charlotte Amalie. When they arrived, they discovered an **unidentified woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds** inside one of the hotel rooms. 

Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of her family. No arrests have been made, and investigators have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack. 

Detectives with the **Major Crimes Unit** were seen canvassing the area, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing hotel surveillance footage.The Galleon House Hotel, a long-standing establishment known for hosting visitors to the island, has now become the scene of tragedy. Guests at the hotel described being startled by loud gunfire and later seeing a heavy police presence throughout the night. 

Several were relocated for their safety as the investigation unfolded.Local officials are calling on the public to assist. “We are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward,” a VIPD spokesperson said. “Community cooperation is critical in solving this case and bringing justice for the victim and her loved ones.”

This incident adds to growing concerns over gun violence in the territory.
