David and Kimberly Lynch Identified as Victims in Fatal Interstate 10 Crash Near Cactus City Rest Stop The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the California Highway Patrol, has confirmed the identities of the two individuals tragically killed in a fatal crash that occurred on the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2025. 

The victims have been identified as David Lynch, 68, and his wife, Kimberly Lynch, 65. The devastating incident unfolded along Interstate 10 near the Cactus City rest stop, a remote stretch of highway located east of Indio, California.

According to preliminary reports, the crash occurred shortly before 9:00 a.m. and involved multiple vehicles, including a large commercial truck and a passenger vehicle. David and Kimberly Lynch were occupants of the passenger vehicle, which sustained catastrophic damage in the collision. Despite swift response efforts by first responders, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, though authorities have stated that weather and visibility conditions were clear at the time. The California Highway Patrol is currently reviewing dashcam footage and gathering witness statements to determine whether speed, mechanical failure, or driver fatigue may have played a role in the tragic accident.

David and Kimberly Lynch, longtime residents of Southern California, were described by loved ones as devoted grandparents, active community members, and loving partners of more than 40 years. The couple was reportedly on their way to visit family in Arizona when the crash occurred.
