Dodie Osteen Houston TX Obituary – Dodie Osteen Death – Dolores ‘Dodie’ Osteen, Mother of Lakewood Church Pastor Joel Osteen, Passed Away With deep sorrow, the Osteen family and Lakewood Church community announce the passing of Dolores “Dodie” Osteen, beloved mother of Pastor Joel Osteen and co-founder of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. She passed away peacefully, leaving behind a powerful legacy of unwavering faith, healing, and compassion. She was 90 years old.

Born in 1934, Dodie was the cherished wife of the late Pastor John Osteen. Together, the two built Lakewood Church from a humble congregation in a feed store into one of the largest and most influential churches in the world. Dodie served faithfully alongside her husband as a spiritual leader, prayer warrior, and source of encouragement for countless believers.

Her story of miraculous healing from metastatic liver cancer in 1981 became a cornerstone of her ministry. Rather than accept a dire prognosis, Dodie leaned wholly into her faith in God, prayer, and Scripture. Her testimony, outlined in her widely read book *Healed of Cancer, inspired millions to believe in the power of divine healing and God's promises.

Even after John Osteen’s passing in 1999, Dodie remained a prominent and deeply loved presence at Lakewood Church, attending services regularly and offering personal prayers to thousands of individuals seeking hope and healing.She was not only a mother to her five children—including Joel and Dr. Paul Osteen—but a spiritual mother to countless others across the globe.
