Community Alert: Park Ridge Home Invasion and Stolen Vehicle – Please Stay Vigilant

Community Alert: Park Ridge Home Invasion and Stolen Vehicle – Please Stay Vigilant Park Ridge, IL – Local authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant following a disturbing home invasion that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, July 29, 2025. According to the Park Ridge Police Department,

intruders broke into a home on the 1400 block of South Crescent Avenue around 3:15 a.m. while the residents were asleep. The suspects gained access through an unlocked rear door and proceeded to steal valuable items, including a set of car keys and the homeowner’s vehicle.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the victims were left shaken. Surveillance footage from nearby homes captured images of two masked individuals fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle, believed to be a silver 2021 Audi Q5 with Illinois plates. Police are actively reviewing security footage and seeking public assistance in identifying the suspects.

This incident marks the latest in a string of suburban burglaries where offenders target unlocked homes and vehicles during overnight hours. Authorities believe these crimes may be linked to organized groups exploiting gaps in neighborhood security, particularly targeting areas with limited street lighting or surveillance.

In response, Park Ridge police have increased patrols and are encouraging residents to take extra precautions: lock all doors and windows, install motion-detecting lights, and avoid leaving valuables or key fobs near entry points. Residents are also urged to review their own surveillance footage and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.

“We understand how unsettling this is for the community,” said Police Chief Frank Kaminski. “We want residents to know we’re taking this seriously, and with the public’s help, we’re confident these individuals will be brought to justice.”Anyone with information is urged to contact the Park Ridge Police Department at (847) 318-5252.
