Southwest Atlanta Tree Collapse: Girl, 10, Crushed to Death, Mother and Grandmother Hospitalized

 In a tragic incident early Saturday morning, a 10-year-old girl named A'erica Dixon lost her life when a massive tree fell onto her family's home on Mims Street SW in southwest Atlanta. The collapse occurred around 3 a.m. during a series of severe storms that swept through the area. 

At the time of the incident, A'erica was inside the home with her mother, grandmother, and three other family members. The tree's impact trapped the occupants inside, leading to A'erica's fatal injuries. Her mother and 63-year-old grandmother were transported to the hospital and are reported to be in stable 

The American Red Cross has stepped in to assist the displaced family as they navigate this devastating loss and the destruction of their home. Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated by family members to help cover funeral expenses for A'eric
