Kenneth Edward Bailey, professionally known as Young Scooter, was a prominent figure in the Atlanta hip-hop scene. Born on March 28, 1986, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he immersed himself in the city's vibrant music culture. Young Scooter gained recognition for his collaborations with notable artists such as Future and Gucci Mane. 

In 2012, he signed with Future's record label, Freebandz, and later, in 2013, he joined Waka Flocka Flame's Brick Squad Monopoly, an imprint of Gucci Mane's 1017 Records. His 2012 mixtape, *Street Lottery, featuring the hit single "Colombia," solidified his reputation in the industry.

Tragically, on March 28, 2025, his 39th birthday, Young Scooter passed away in Atlanta. The incident occurred after police responded to reports of gunfire and a woman being forcibly taken into a residence in southeast Atlanta. Upon arrival, officers observed two men fleeing the scene. 

Young Scooter attempted to evade capture by jumping over two fences but sustained a severe leg injury during the escape. He was promptly transported to Grady Marcus Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have clarified that no officers discharged their weapons during the pursuit, and the fatal injury was self-inflicted during the escape attempt. 

Young Scooter's untimely death has left a void in the music community. Known for his freestyle approach and "count music" style, he drew inspiration from artists like Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Sean Combs. 

His lyrical themes often revolved around street life, money, and resilience, resonating with many fans. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Young Thug, Juicy J, Kodak Black, and Rick Ross. His guest appearance on Future and Juice Wrld's 2018 song "Jet Lag" marked his sole entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
