A 9-year-old child is dead, and her mother is in custody following an attempted murder-suicide in Atlanta, Texas. Allison French has been arrested for capital murder after allegedly stabbing her daughter, Abigail, and the child's grandmother, Jackie Kubin, leading to the child's death.

A tragic case of family violence has left a Texas community in shock after a 9-year-old girl was killed and her grandmother injured in an alleged murder-suicide attempt. Authorities in Atlanta, Texas, have arrested 36-year-old Allison French on a charge of capital murder following the brutal stabbing of her daughter, Abigail French, and the child's grandmother, Jackie Kubin.  

According to investigators, law enforcement responded to a 911 call at a residence on the night of the attack. Upon arrival, officers discovered Abigail suffering from critical stab wounds. Despite efforts by first responders, the young girl succumbed to her injuries. Jackie Kubin, who was also stabbed, was rushed to a local hospital and is expected to survive.  

Authorities allege that Allison French attempted to take her own life after attacking her family members. However, she was taken into custody and transported for medical treatment before being booked into the Cass County Jail.
