Matt Rutkowski Obituary, Death: School Counselor At Twinsburg, OH High School Has Passed Away

 The Twinsburg, Ohio, community is mourning the loss of Matthew Peter Rutkowski, a dedicated school counselor at Twinsburg High School, who passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 46. Born on August 28, 1978, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Peter and Louise Rutkowski, Matthew grew up in South Russell, Ohio. 

He pursued higher education at Miami University, John Carroll University, and Cleveland State University, equipping himself with the knowledge and skills that would define his career in education. 

Matthew's professional journey was marked by a steadfast commitment to student development and well-being. As a guidance counselor at Twinsburg High School, he was known for his compassionate approach, providing unwavering support to students navigating academic and personal challenges. 

His dedication extended beyond Twinsburg, having previously served at ArcTech Academy in the South Euclid/Lyndhurst area, impacting numerous young lives with his guidance and mentorship. 

Beyond his professional endeavors, Matthew was a devoted family man. He resided in Gates Mills, Ohio, with his wife, Lyndy, and their two daughters, Jade and Rose. 

His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the moments spent with them, whether volunteering at his daughters' elementary school or participating in community events. 

Matthew's commitment to service was evident in his active involvement in the Gates Mills community, including a leadership role in the Gates Mills Art Show. His contributions enriched the cultural fabric of the area, reflecting his passion for fostering community engagement and appreciation for the arts. 

He is survived by his mother, Louise, his wife, Lyndy, their daughters, Jade and Rose, his sister, Jennifer, brothers Bob (Beth), John (Tina), Dan (Megan), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter. 

A memorial service to honor Matthew's life is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Twinsburg High School auditorium, located at 10084 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg, OH 44087. 

This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, and students to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man who dedicated himself to the betterment of others. 

Matthew Rutkowski's legacy as an educator, mentor, and community leader will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering dedication to his students and community has left an indelible mark, and he will be deeply missed.
