Chianti Means, age 33, and her two young children, Roman Rossman, age 9, and Mecca Means, age 5 months, tragically lost their lives in an apparent suicide at Niagara Falls after crossing into a restricted area on Goat Island. Chianti was a devoted mother, known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her children. Friends and family described her as a caring and compassionate individual who put her family first, always 

seeking to provide a loving environment for her children. Roman, a bright and curious nine-year-old, was full of life and adventure, constantly bringing joy to those around him with his playful spirit. 

He had a natural curiosity about the world and was a beloved friend to his classmates. Mecca, just five months old, was a light in the family’s life, cherished by her mother and brother alike.

The tragedy occurred on a somber day as Chianti and her children were seen entering a restricted area near Goat Island. The restricted zone, marked for visitor safety, overlooks the powerful Niagara Falls. Despite the barriers, they crossed into this area, leading to a devastating fall from the edge of the Falls.
