Japanese voice actress Nobuyo Oyama, who was the voice of beloved cartoon character "Doraemon," passed away, her agency announced on Friday.

Nobuyo ÅŒyama, a celebrated Japanese voice actress, passed away, leaving behind a legacy that profoundly shaped the world of animation. She was best known for her iconic portrayal of Doraemon, the beloved robotic cat from the future in the long-running anime series of the same name. 

Her death, announced by her agency on Friday, marks the end of an era for millions of fans who grew up with her voice bringing life, warmth, and humor to one of Japan’s most cherished characters.

ÅŒyama's portrayal of Doraemon spanned over two decades, from 1979 until her retirement in 2005 due to health reasons.
