Born and raised in Somerset, Raina was a vibrant presence in the town. She was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family. 

Raina attended Somerset High School, where she was not only a standout student but also a beloved friend to many. Her passion for helping others was evident from a young age, leading her to pursue a career in nursing after graduating high school.

Raina married the love of her life, Jason Simpson, shortly after completing her nursing degree. Together, they built a loving home and were blessed with three beautiful children: 

Emma, Lucas, and Ava. Raina's devotion to her family was unmatched. She was a constant source of support and inspiration to her husband and children, always putting their needs before her own.

In her professional life, Raina was a dedicated nurse at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Her compassionate nature and exceptional skills made her a favorite among patients and colleagues alike. 

She had a unique ability to comfort and care for those in need, making a significant impact on countless lives throughout her career.

Despite her illness, Raina remained a pillar of strength and positivity. Her courage in the face of adversity was truly inspiring. She continued to be actively involved in her children's lives, attending school events and cheering them on in their various activities. Her resilience and determination were a testament to her character.

Raina’s family is heartbroken by her loss. She leaves behind her loving husband, Jason, her three children, Emma, Lucas, and Ava, her parents, John and Linda, and her siblings, Sarah and Michael. The Simpson family has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community during this difficult time.

A celebration of Raina's life will be held to honor her memory. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to cancer research organizations or local charities that Raina supported.
