LaRhonda Davis Gibson and Ketron Menteze Gibson Jr. ObituaryOn August 27, 2024, a tragic collision on Interstate 26 in Lexington County claimed the lives of LaRhonda Davis Gibson, 34, and her 23-month-old son, Ketron Menteze Gibson Jr. LaRhonda, a devoted mother and resident of Newberry, South Carolina, was known for her boundless love for her family and her warm, generous spirit. 

She had an infectious enthusiasm for life, always eager to lend a hand to those in need and actively participating in community events. Her dedication to her son was evident in every aspect of her life, as she worked tirelessly to provide him with a nurturing and joyful environment.

Ketron Menteze Gibson Jr., her beloved child, was a source of immense joy and light in LaRhonda’s life. At just 23 months old, he brought boundless energy and laughter to everyone around him. His bright eyes and curious nature reflected the love and care his mother showered upon him.

The accident, which occurred on the westbound lanes of I-26, has left the community in mourning. According to reports, the collision involved multiple vehicles and was exacerbated by adverse weather conditions. 

Despite immediate medical attention, both LaRhonda and Ketron were pronounced dead at the scene. The loss has deeply affected their family, friends, and the entire Newberry community.

LaRhonda’s vibrant presence and unwavering devotion to her son will be deeply missed. She is survived by her family who will forever cherish the memories of her kindness and the loving moments she shared with Ketron. 

A memorial service will be held to honor their lives, providing a space for those who knew them to pay their respects and find solace in their shared grief.
