Fatman Scoop, who topped charts in Europe with “Be Faithful” two decades ago and later contributed to hits by other artists, died after collapsing on stage at a show Friday in Connecticut, according to officials and his family. He was 53. .

The music world is reeling from the sudden death of Fatman Scoop, the iconic hype man and rapper, who tragically passed away at the age of 53 after collapsing on stage during a show in Connecticut on Friday. 

Known for his booming voice and infectious energy, Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, made an indelible mark on the music industry, particularly with his chart-topping hit "Be Faithful," which dominated European charts two decades ago.

"Be Faithful," released in 1999, became a global anthem, its catchy refrain and commanding delivery making it a staple in clubs and parties around the world. 

The song’s success catapulted Fatman Scoop to international fame, earning him a place in the pantheon of memorable hip-hop and dance tracks from that era. 

The track not only topped the charts in the United Kingdom but also enjoyed widespread popularity across Europe, solidifying his reputation as a dynamic performer and a force in the music scene.

Beyond "Be Faithful," Fatman Scoop's career was marked by his collaborations with a wide range of artists. His distinctive voice and energetic presence were featured on tracks by Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, and Busta Rhymes, among others.
