Albert Thompson, 74, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8th, at Monroe County Medical Center. A beloved figure in his community, Albert was known for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep commitment to those around him. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born and raised in Tompkinsville, Albert was a man deeply rooted in his hometown. He spent much of his life contributing to the betterment of the community, often volunteering his time and resources to various local causes. 

Whether it was helping out at the local food pantry or participating in community clean-up efforts, Albert's presence was a constant and reassuring force in Tompkinsville.

Albert worked for over 40 years as a machinist, a profession he took great pride in. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to fix just about anything. 

His colleagues admired his work ethic, and many sought his guidance and mentorship. Even after retiring, Albert continued to lend his expertise to friends and neighbors, always willing to help with a project or repair.

Family was at the center of Albert's life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting the needs of his loved ones above his own. 

His home was a gathering place, filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Albert cherished the time spent with his family, whether it was sharing stories around the dinner table or attending his grandchildren’s school events.

Funeral services to honor Albert’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. 

The community will come together to pay their respects during visitation hours, which will be held on Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Albert’s family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation. This cause was close to Albert’s heart, reflecting his enduring spirit of giving and his desire to make a positive impact in the world, even in his passing. 

Albert Thompson will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
