Sean Chavious, a cherished father, devoted husband, beloved son, supportive brother, and inspiring teacher and football coach, has left a profound void in the Bellport community with his passing on July 29, 2024. His sudden departure has left family, friends, and the many lives he touched in deep mourning.

Born on January 12, 1975, Sean grew up in Bellport, where his roots and connections to the community ran deep. After graduating from Bellport High School, he pursued higher education and returned to his hometown,

where he became an integral part of both the educational and athletic spheres. As a teacher at Bellport High School, Sean was known for his dedication to his students, his engaging teaching methods, and his ability to inspire and mentor young minds.

Beyond the classroom, Sean made a significant impact as a football coach. His leadership on the field was marked by his passion for the game, his commitment to developing players both as athletes and individuals, and his ability to foster a sense of teamwork and camaraderie.

Under his guidance, many young athletes grew not just in skill but in character, reflecting the deep respect and admiration they held for him.

Sean’s family was the center of his world. He was a loving husband to his wife, Laura, and a devoted father to their two children, Michael and Sophie. His dedication to his family was evident in every aspect of his life,

from the time he spent supporting his children’s activities to the love and care he showed his wife. His role as a son and brother was equally important, characterized by the unwavering support and affection he offered his family members.

A memorial service to celebrate Sean’s life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at St. Mary’s Church in Bellport. The community will come together to honor his legacy, sharing stories and memories of a man who embodied kindness, dedication, and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bellport Youth Sports Program, continuing Sean’s legacy of commitment to the youth of his community. Sean Chavious will be deeply missed, but his impact and the memories he created will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
