The family of 3-year-old Levi Wright, who nearly drowned last month in a local creek, shared devastating news on Sunday. Kallie Wright, Levi's mother, announced via Facebook that the family has decided to let Levi pass away.
"After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world’s best neurologists, and millions of prayers, we are here in the face of our biggest fear," Kallie Wright wrote. "Levi showed us just enough to buy us time for all of this."
Levi has been at Primary Children’s Hospital for over a week, a period which Kallie Wright noted gave the family time to come to terms with the situation and prepare emotionally.
The tragic incident occurred on May 21 when Levi, riding his toy tractor, drove into the creek. Despite immediate rescue efforts, Levi was found unresponsive nearly 30 minutes later, almost a mile downstream in water that was over 4 feet deep.
The community has rallied around the Wright family during this incredibly difficult time, offering support and prayers. As they navigate this heart-wrenching decision, the family appreciates the continued support and love from friends, neighbors, and strangers alike.
Levi's story has touched many hearts, highlighting both the dangers of water and the fragility of life. The Wright family’s courage in sharing their journey serves as a poignant reminder of the preciousness of every moment with loved ones.
