Jim Beardmore Severna Park MD Obituary: Jimmy Beardmore Death, Former Maryland Lacrosse Player And Coach Dies

Jim Beardmore, renowned lacrosse goalie and esteemed coach, has passed away. Beardmore was formerly the head coach for the Hamburg Warriors B-Team. His legacy is closely tied to his father, Clayton "Buddy" Beardmore, the celebrated University of Maryland coach and Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee.

Beardmore's journey in lacrosse began at The Severn School in Severna Park, MD, from which he graduated before attending the University of Maryland. During his college career, he distinguished himself as an exceptional player. 

In 1987, he was awarded the Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award, recognizing him as the NCAA's Goalie of the Year. That same year, Beardmore earned numerous accolades, including first-team All-American honors, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year, and first-team All-ACC selection.

Following his collegiate success, Beardmore played professionally for five seasons in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League, representing the Washington Wave and the Pittsburgh Bulls. His professional career showcased his skill and dedication to the sport, contributing significantly to his teams.

Transitioning from player to coach, Beardmore took on several coaching roles, most notably as the head coach for the Denver Outlaws during the 2007 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) season. 

His coaching career extended to high schools, including Severna Park, where he influenced young athletes with his expertise and passion for the game. Additionally, he served as director of Nike Lacrosse Summer Camps and All-American Sports Camps, further demonstrating his commitment to nurturing future lacrosse talent.

In 2008, Beardmore took on the role of head lacrosse coach at Colorado Academy, continuing his coaching journey and impacting the lives of many young athletes.

Jim Beardmore's contributions to lacrosse, both as a player and coach, have left a lasting mark on the sport. His legacy is one of excellence, dedication, and a profound love for lacrosse. He will be remembered fondly by the lacrosse community and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
