Mary Joy Moosman Troup County GA Death : Mary Joy Moosman Obituary - Hailey Arnold Aming 5 Inured In Car Accident

A serious car accident on Thursday afternoon in Troup County has left two high school students in critical condition and three others injured, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

Troopers were dispatched to the scene at Hogansville Road and Whitfield Road at 12:30 p.m. The collision involved a black 2008 Volkswagen Tiguan and a white Ram 3500 pickup truck towing a utility trailer.

According to GSP, the incident occurred when the Volkswagen, which had stopped at a stop sign on Whitfield Road, proceeded through the intersection without yielding. The northbound Ram 3500 struck the passenger side of the Volkswagen, forcing it off the road. The impact resulted in two backseat passengers being ejected from the vehicle.

Troup County School System confirmed that the five occupants of the Volkswagen are students at Troup County High School. The two ejected passengers were airlifted to Grady Hospital and are currently listed in critical condition. The other three students sustained injuries of varying severity but were not detailed further in the immediate reports.

The ages of the students involved have not been released at this time. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is assisting with the investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the crash. On Saturday 18th May 2024, Mary Joy Moosman was pronounced dead.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge drivers to exercise caution at intersections and remain vigilant on the roads to prevent such tragic incidents.
