Luke Rathschmidt, a devoted member of the Carmel Highway Department from Mahopac, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Luke was a cherished member of our community, known for his ability to bring smiles to all who met him. His life exemplified service, sacrifice, and love.
Luke bravely served in the U.S. Army, dedicating himself to protecting his country in Iraq. His commitment to supporting his fellow troops continued beyond his military service through his establishment of the non-profit organization United For The Troops, which provides comfort and aid to soldiers serving abroad.
Beyond his professional and philanthropic efforts, Luke was a devoted partner to Tracy and a proud father to Jaelynn and Brandt. His boundless love and dedication to his family were evident in all aspects of his life. Luke was also a loving son, who consistently stood by his family through thick and thin.
Luke's presence in our community will be deeply missed, and his legacy of service and love will continue to inspire us all.
