David Mullins Albany NY And Vansh Patel Death - Former Coach And Deerfield-Windsor Student- Athlete Died In Accident

In a heartbreaking incident early Monday morning, a single-vehicle crash resulted in the death of one Deerfield-Windsor School graduate and left another critically injured. The accident occurred on May 20 around 2 a.m. on Bobby Locke Road in Terrell County, Georgia.

According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), troopers arrived at the scene of the crash involving a white Ford F-150. The vehicle, driven by recent graduate David Mullins, was traveling south on Bobby Locke Road when it exited the highway while navigating a curve. The truck veered onto the east shoulder for approximately 260 feet before hitting a culvert and becoming airborne.

The airborne truck struck a guy wire, causing the passenger, Vansh Patel, to be ejected from the vehicle. The truck continued its airborne trajectory and eventually collided with a tree roof-first. It came to an uncontrolled rest on its driver’s side, facing west.

David Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Vansh Patel, the passenger, sustained severe injuries and was lifeflighted to Grady Memorial Hospital for urgent medical attention.

This tragic accident has left the Deerfield-Windsor School community and the families of both young men in deep mourning. David Mullins and Vansh Patel had recently celebrated their graduation, marking the end of their high school journey and the beginning of their adult lives. The sudden loss of David and the critical condition of Vansh have sent shockwaves through their friends, family, and the broader community.
