Bethany Israel Bloomington MN Death : Bethany Ball Obituary - Jack Joseph Ball Charged After Killing His Pregnant Sister In Lakeville

In a chilling case that has shocked the local community, 23-year-old Jack Joseph Ball from Farmington has been charged with the murder of his sister, Bethany Ann Israel, who was found dead last week in a Lakeville home. Prosecutors have filed two counts of second-degree murder against Ball in connection with the brutal crime.

The tragic sequence of events began on Thursday night when police received a distressing 911 call at around 11 p.m. A woman reported that she feared for her daughter’s safety, believing she had been killed. Responding officers arrived at a residence along Encina Path, near the intersection of Pilot Knob Road and 170th Street West, straddling the Lakeville-Farmington border. Inside, they were met with a horrifying scene: a large pool of blood in the kitchen alongside bloodied knives and tools.

The 911 caller, later identified as Israel's mother, detailed that her daughter had gone to dinner with her brother, Ball, earlier that evening. Growing concerned after not hearing back from Israel, she drove to the house. Upon arrival, she saw Ball hastily leaving the premises and then discovered blood inside the home.

As officers conducted a thorough search, they uncovered body parts within the residence. The grim discovery continued when another 911 call reported a man placing what seemed to be a body part on a front step in Rosemount. This led police to find Ball near a shed in the area, covered in blood and near several more body parts.

Further investigation revealed that Israel was between 17 and 18 weeks pregnant with her first child, adding a layer of tragic complexity to the case. Ball made his initial court appearance on Tuesday afternoon. During the hearing, his bail was set at $2 million, or $1 million with conditions. He is scheduled for another hearing on June 10. According to officials, Ball had not yet been medically cleared to be transferred to jail due to an apparent self-inflicted cut.
