In Moretown, Vermont, a tragic incident unfolded on VT Route 100, resulting in the loss of a life and serious legal consequences for a commercial driver. 

The Vermont State Police responded to a distressing scene where a collision between two vehicles had taken place, ultimately claiming the life of 39-year-old Rosetta Weber from Waitsfield. 

The driver deemed responsible for this fatal crash was identified as 24-year-old Satnam Singh from Ontario. Following the accident, Singh was taken into custody on charges of gross negligent operation leading to death. 

The sequence of events that led to the tragedy began unfolding just before 7 a.m., attracting the attention of law enforcement as well as officials from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The crash involved a Subaru CrossTrek and a Freightliner, both vehicles coming to a rest off the road after the collision.

Tragically, Rosetta Weber, who was alone in her Subaru at the time of the accident, lost her life due to the impact of the crash. Investigations revealed that Singh, traveling southbound, inexplicably veered out of his lane, leading to a head-on collision with Weber's vehicle in the opposing lane.

After receiving treatment for suspected minor injuries at Central Vermont Medical Center, Singh was apprehended and detained at the Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury. He was required to post a bail amount of $150,000 and scheduled to appear in court promptly to address the charges pressed against him.

The road closure that ensued from the crash lasted until 5 p.m., with authorities working diligently to clear the area and resume normal traffic flow.
