Pedri and De Jong gear up for Paris showdown

Pedri and De Jong, key components of the midfield for their team, are edging closer to their much-anticipated return. The duo participated in training sessions once again today, intensifying their preparations for the crucial first leg encounter of the Champions League quarterfinals against Paris Saint-Germain.

It's expected that by the culmination of the week, they will seamlessly reintegrate into the group dynamics, with their sights set firmly on the upcoming journey to Paris.

The imminent showdown at the Parc des Princes holds the promise of seeing both De Jong and Pedri back in action. Their absence, stemming from injuries incurred during the match against Athletic Bilbao on March 3, has been keenly felt.

De Jong's setback involved a sprained ankle, while Pedri grappled with a muscle injury in his right rectus femoris. The club's approach towards their rehabilitation has been characterized by cautiousness, prioritizing their full recovery, which now appears on track to be achieved this week.

In the locker room, De Jong exudes optimism, eagerly anticipating his return to the fold under the helm of manager Luis Enrique. Conversely, Pedri adopts a more cautious stance, underscoring the importance of ensuring his fitness is at its peak before making his comeback. Their collective absence has been felt across four crucial encounters, underlining their significance within the team structure.

In related news, as per reports from MD, Andreas Christensen's availability for selection adds a further boost to the team's prospects. Despite experiencing discomfort in his Achilles heel during warm-up sessions ahead of the match against Atlético Madrid and subsequently missing out on the clash against UD Las Palmas, Christensen is now poised to offer his services, bolstering the team's defensive lineup.
