A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday afternoon along Interstate 17 in north Phoenix, where a rollover crash claimed at least one life.
The harrowing event occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-17, just south of Loop 303. Reports from the Arizona Department of Public Safety indicate that the crash ensued after a vehicle collided with the center barrier, subsequently rolling over.
Tragically, among the two individuals inside the vehicle, at least one succumbed to the impact of the crash. Remarkably, no other vehicles were implicated in the incident.
In response to the crash, authorities swiftly closed the southbound lanes for investigation purposes, diverting traffic onto the 303. The thorough investigation led to the reopening of all lanes just prior to 5 p.m., though the gravity of the incident lingered in the minds of those affected.
