Three officers—Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, Detective Isaiah Emenheiser, and Detective Mark Baker—were killed while performing their duty at a York County farm, leaving a deep void in their department and community.The shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon during a warrant service in North Codorus Township. Two other officers were critically wounded and are receiving care.

The Northern York County Regional Police Department has announced the temporary suspension of its day-to-day operations as the community continues to grapple with the devastating loss of three detectives killed in last week’s ambush. With the department still in mourning, law enforcement coverage is being provided by neighboring agencies and the Pennsylvania State 

Police to ensure public safety remains uninterrupted.Officials emphasized that their focus at this time is not on the suspect, 24-year-old Matthew J. Ruth, who was killed during the exchange of gunfire, but rather on honoring the lives and legacies of the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
