 Doug Dorn, the esteemed head coach of Temple Gymnastics in Belton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly, leaving a void in the hearts of his family, friends, athletes, and the broader gymnastics community. His sudden death has brought immense grief to all who knew him and admired his dedication to the sport and his unwavering support for his students.

Born on March 10, 1975, Doug developed a passion for gymnastics at an early age. His natural talent and determination led him to compete at high levels, earning numerous accolades throughout his career.

 After retiring from competition, Doug dedicated his life to coaching, sharing his love for gymnastics with aspiring athletes and nurturing their talents with patience and expertise.

For over two decades, Doug was the driving force behind Temple Gymnastics. His coaching philosophy centered on discipline, hard work, and fostering a positive, supportive environment. 

He was known for his ability to inspire and motivate his gymnasts, pushing them to achieve their personal best while also emphasizing the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Many of his students went on to compete at state and national levels, attributing their success to Doug's guidance and mentorship.

Doug's impact extended beyond the gym. He was a beloved figure in the Belton community, actively involved in local events and always willing to lend a helping hand. His warm personality, infectious enthusiasm, and genuine care for others made him a cherished friend and mentor to many.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Matthew, Olivia, and Sophia. His family, while heartbroken by his passing, is deeply grateful for the support and love they have received from the community.

 Lisa Dorn shared, “Doug was more than a coach; he was a loving husband and father who dedicated his life to his family and his passion. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.”

A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Temple Gymnastics, where he spent so many cherished moments. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Doug Dorn Memorial Fund, established to support young gymnasts and continue Doug's mission of fostering a love for gymnastics.

Doug Dorn's passing is a profound loss, but his spirit and dedication will continue to inspire the gymnastics community and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will be remembered through the achievements of his students and the enduring love he shared with his family and friends.
