Ginnie Springs Florida Death : 2 Killed, One Inured After Shooting In Gilchrist County

An investigation is ongoing after an attempted murder at Ginnie Springs on Saturday night, according to the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office. Around 11:30 p.m., police responded to a call about an attempted murder on a roadway inside Ginnie Springs, situated between the Devil's Spring and the tube launch area. Further details on the incident were not immediately provided, leaving the community and park attendees anxious for more information.

The sheriff's office, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), has been actively canvassing the scene, searching for potential witnesses and one "outstanding subject that was involved." The prompt response and active investigation underline the seriousness of the situation.

Investigators have released a detailed description of a woman they are seeking in connection with the incident. She is described as being in her early 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with long braids and light-tinted contact lenses. At the time of the incident, she was last seen wearing a green swimsuit top paired with multi-colored patterned swim bottoms. Police believe the woman has been staying in the area and was last observed walking towards the park's exit.

The search for this individual is ongoing, and law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with information to come forward. Lieutenant Rebecca Cumbie, the lead investigator on the case, can be contacted at (352) 463-3410. The authorities are particularly interested in hearing from those who might have seen the woman or witnessed the incident.

In response to the incident, Ginnie Springs announced on social media Sunday morning that the park was temporarily closed. The announcement indicated that admissions would resume once it was deemed safe for visitors. The closure reflects the park management's commitment to ensuring the safety of its guests during the ongoing investigation.

As the investigation continues, the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office and FDLE are working diligently to gather all possible evidence and identify those responsible. The community's cooperation and vigilance are crucial during this time. Anyone with information is urged to assist in bringing this investigation to a swift and just conclusion.

  1. First off, your obvious liberal reporting fails to identify the woman being sought as an African American Female as the Sheriff’s office indicated in their post. Withholding that info doesn’t do anyone any good. And secondly, Ginnie Springs has no commitment whatsoever to the safety of its guests, their only committed to the almighty dollar and what it takes to remain open. The state of Fl needs to step in here and do whatever can be done to stop the zoo that is Ginnie Springs. They can’t regulate private property? Well they can close the roads that lead in until Ginnie complies.
