Cleveland High School is reeling from the devastating news of the loss of two beloved students, Air’ra Wilson and Shytez Jackson, who tragically passed away in a car accident. As the school community grapples with this heartbreaking loss, plans are underway to remember and celebrate the lives of these young individuals.
Despite the somber mood, the school is determined to provide support and opportunities for healing. Prom, scheduled for this evening, April 27, will proceed as planned. Recognizing the need for students to come together during this difficult time, school officials believe that prom will offer a safe space for students to gather and support one another.
During prom, special moments will be dedicated to honoring and celebrating the lives of Air’ra and Shytez. Counselors will be present at the prom venue to provide support if needed, ensuring that students feel supported throughout the evening.
For those who may need additional support, counselors will be available at Cleveland High School from 5 PM to 6:30 PM this evening, and will remain available on Monday, April 29. The school is committed to offering ongoing support to students and staff members as they navigate this loss.
In addition to the prom, Cleveland High School will host a memorial vigil in honor of Air’ra and Shytez at 5 PM tomorrow, April 28, at the Cleveland High School football field. The vigil is open to all students, staff, and community members who wish to join in remembrance of these two remarkable individuals.
As the Cleveland High School community mourns the loss of Air’ra Wilson and Shytez Jackson, they come together in solidarity to remember their lives, their impact, and the legacy they leave behind.
